Privacy Policy
At Ecaticos Plataforma Inmobiliaria S.A. (hereinafter, "Ecaticos") we respect your privacy and protect your personal data in line with Ecuador's Organic Law on the Protection of Personal Data (Official Registry Supplement 459 of 26 May 2021) and its General Regulation. This policy describes which data we collect, why, and what your rights are.
1. Data controller
Ecaticos Plataforma Inmobiliaria S.A., Tax ID 1793256874001, domiciled at Av. República del Salvador N36-84 y Suecia, Mansión Blanca Building, 9th floor, Quito 170135, Ecuador. Data Protection Officer: dpo@ecaticos.com.
2. Data we collect
We collect the following personal data: name and surname, national ID or passport number, address in Ecuador, email, phone number, financial data needed for due diligence and anti-money-laundering checks, as well as technical browsing data (IP address, device identifier, browser type).
3. Purposes of processing
We use your data to: (i) manage your newsletter subscription; (ii) comply with legal obligations before UAFE and SRI; (iii) verify your identity and prevent fraud; (iv) send you information about Ecaticos real estate projects; (v) reply to your queries; and (vi) analyse the use of the site to improve it.
4. Legal basis
We process your data based on your express consent, on compliance with legal obligations applicable in Ecuador, on the performance of the contractual relationship and on Ecaticos' legitimate interest in guaranteeing the security of the service.
5. Recipients of your data
We share your data only with: competent Ecuadorian authorities (SRI, UAFE, Superintendence of Companies), accredited appraisal experts, collateral trusts, Ecuadorian financial institutions, cloud technology providers and external lawyers. All of them are contractually bound by confidentiality obligations.
6. International transfers
Some technology providers are located outside Ecuador (mainly in the European Union and the United States). In those cases we apply standard contractual clauses and confirm that the country offers an adequate level of protection.
7. Retention period
We keep your data for the duration of the contractual relationship and, afterwards, for at least ten years, in line with the anti-money-laundering obligations in force in Ecuador.
8. Your rights
You can exercise the rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, portability, restriction of processing and withdrawal of consent by writing to dpo@ecaticos.com. You can also file a complaint with the Ecuadorian Superintendence for the Protection of Personal Data.
9. Security measures
We apply technical and organisational measures such as TLS 1.3 encryption, role-based access control, two-factor authentication, encrypted backups and annual security audits carried out by an independent third party accredited in Ecuador.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated to reflect regulatory or operational changes. We will publish the current version on this page and indicate the date of the last amendment.
